We have an idle inquiry to you, not concerning political defense – have you ever thought about the death? About the life afterwards? Of course you have, haven’t you? The only joyful and heart-warming even for an atheist thought of this kind is the thought of grateful descendants. Of some great-great-grand... would tell your grandchildren: “If it were not for your grandfather (grandmother)...” To be short – of gratitude. “You must reach your journey’s end so that you get gratitude”. So I want to warn you: the resistance to the system in general and the political defense in particular are the most ungrateful fields of human activities. Neither glory nor material benefit wait for you on this way. Here is all the shit of the political defense: endless talks to lawyers whose advocation you cannot pay for according to the merit, negotiations with representatives of authorities (including police) on different cases and in different mood, cursing of mad with grief political prisoners’ relatives and yours own, judicial proceedings and your conscience of helplessness at them... And all this – what for? That’s often for a kickshaw, for nice knotty letters of a man who hasn’t written to anybody for almost eight years – there was no one to write to. For a smile. To pull him out from Through-the-Looking-Glass – if you have luck – a day before, a month before, a year before... If you need it – we wait for you, comrade! If you need IT. Because a political prisoner is a political prisoner – he often hasn’t any possibility even to write to thank you...
On the night of April, 27/28 our comrade Igor Fedorovich, a correspondent of the newspaper “For freedom” was arrested. For several months Igor was free he was engaged in the defense of political prisoners. Now Fedorovich is housed in the detention facility “Butyrka”, forwarding address: IZ 77/2 cell 93, Novoslobodskaya 45, Moscow 127055 Russia. He was nailed on a charge by article 213 part 1 of the Criminal Code of RF (“Hooliganism”). A molestation is imputed to him, the only “complainant” is a glass broken by unknown young people on the eve of the New Year. The law-enforcement officers don’t conceal that they have solved by this way a problem with a “cold case”, but true reasons of the arrest are political.
In the same “Butyrka” four National-Bolsheviks arrested in May 2006 are housed: Roman Popkov, Nazir Magomedov, Vladimir Titov, Sergey Medvedev. A criminal case was initiated on the article 213 part 2 of the Criminal Code of RF “Hooliganism” upon the fact of the events of April, 13, 2006 near the Tagansky court of Moscow when twenty-five National-Bolsheviks defeated successfully an attack of forty fighters, presumably militants of the organization “Young Russia”, on Eduard Limonov. The case is run by the Main Investigative Administration of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow.
Recently the repressions of the penal colonies’ administration on National-Bolsheviks sentenced for the action of peaceful seizure of the Ministry of Health were enhanced. Packages, parcels and correspondence are constrained for them illegally. Inquiries are already sent to correctional facilities where comrades are housed from human rights organizations and the ombudsman of RF. We hope examinations will be made soon on these inquiries.
Judicial proceedings continue in the Moscow city court on the case of Gubkin (“MRC” – “Military Revolucionary Council”). The case is investigated by trial jury, the proceedings are private. An expanded appeal is finished and sent to the European Court on the notorious “Odessa case”, we have only to believe that the European court shocked by the lawlessness existing at the territory of the former USSR will investigate this case with higher priority. Such priority was admitted, for example, for Belashev (the “MRC” case). In May-June A.Petrenko and L.Romanova are making a traditional “raid” over Ukraine – aimed at the same: parcels and meetings with inmates of the “Odessa case”.
Parcels with living essentials and literature were sent to Olga Nevskaya and Nadezhda Raks, parcels were organized for Igor Fedorovich and Yan Mavlevich.
We have a good news, too – one of the “Founding Fathers” of the PORTOS [the Poetized Society for Creation a Theory of All People’s Happiness] Yury Davydov is free. Yury has written a book in the places of detention, it will be published soon.
